Greater Games is a German game studio for serious games and original worlds, founded by game designer and professor Greta Hoffmann. Its games make unpopular topics playable, and they win awards for it. Titles include Uuugh – False Play (with Ulm University Hospital), InvestNuts, Trash Monsters and the Punzel universe. Its serious games stay in use for years: Trash Monsters has more than 300,000 downloads and runs in over 20 towns, and Uuugh won the International Serious Play Award 2026.
About the founder
Prof. Dr. Greta Hoffmann is Professor of Game Design at the Cologne Game Lab (TH Köln), founder of Greater Games and board member of the German Society for Game Science (DGSW). She holds a PhD from KIT on game design for learning and has been making games that teach since 2013.
